READING, Pa., March 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Ay Chihuahua! A small dog-sitting company in PA has partnered with a dog rescue in NYC. Like many cities, Los Angeles has an abundance of stray dogs, many of them Chihuahuas or a Chihuahua mix. Waggytail Rescue provides airfare for the tiniest strays in LA to come find their forever homes in NYC. Upon their arrival the frightened pint-size dogs must be rehabilitated and outfitted for life in a home and this includes needing a collar to hold their identification. Le Petite Canine donates new collars to the organization to help with the high cost of the dog’s bare necessities.

Waggytail Rescue is a NYC based animal rescue charity dedicated to the rehoming of small breed dogs. Founded in 2004, Waggytail Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has rescued over 5000 abandoned dogs! Through the tireless work of their many volunteers and amazing fosters, they are committed to finding forever homes for the littlest strays. Waggytail is a very grateful recipient of Le Petite Canine‘s amazing handmade collars as part of their Collars for Canines Campaign.

Why Collars? Le Petite Canine wanted to provide a tangible good. A collar is essential in providing a dog with a safe way to walk, exercise and socialize. Recognizing the need for well-made, fresh collars, Le Petite canine created Collars for Canines. The campaign involves dog owners ordering a collar for their own dog and knowing their purchase contributes to the campaign directly. A new collar makes a dog more appealing to potential families and the benefits are apparent as soon as the collar is on the dog. The Collars for Canines Campaign is set up to offer a new collar to as many shelter dogs as possible. The campaign invites anyone in need of a collar for their own dog to go to our site or our Etsy shop.
